One Plus Two Plus One Equals a Wealth of Custom Exhibit Projects

Released on: January 22, 2008, 8:34 am

Press Release Author: Interpretive Exhibits, Inc.

Industry: Government

Press Release Summary: Interpretive Exhibit and One + Two Design Group in Portland
have teamed up to create several new exhibits for visitor centers and museums.

Press Release Body: When Interpretive Exhibits and One + Two began teaming up to try
and procure competitive government bids for custom exhibit projects, neither company
realized the potency of the combination.

So far the two companies have teamed up on eight project that were either completed
in the past year or are due for completion in 2008.

"Being able to present the two companies as a team is very advantageous and helps
bring forward the strengths of each," said Ed Austin, owner and manager of
Interpretive Exhibits.

The partnership so far reaches throughout the western US with the following visitor
center or exhibit projects either completed or underway:

. Coos Bay, Oregon: South Slough Estuary (completed in 2007)
. Lubbock, Texas: Science Spectrum
. San Francisco, California: SF Bay National Estuary and Reserve
. Roswell, New Mexico: Bitter Lake National Wildlife Reserve
. State of Washington: Ice Age Floods
. Fort Peck, Montana: Fort Peck Dam
. Parker, Arizona: Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge
. Plummer, Idaho: Sacred Encounters

All of the projects involve some combination of exhibit design and fabrication for
visitor centers. One + Two is strictly a design team, headed up by Tip Wilson, who
has over three decades in the industry. While Interpretive Exhibits has often
designed projects, their strength, according to Austin is in museum-quality exhibit
fabrication.

Interpretive Exhibits was founded in 1989 by Ed Austin and two others, who have
since retired. Austin's experience in the exhibit industry goes back 35 years.

"It's satisfying to work with a company that shares a similar vision and working
style," said Tip Wilson. "It's been great for both companies."

Some of Interpretive Exhibits' employees had worked with Tip Wilson at the
now-defunct PPI (Portland, Oregon), but it wasn't until Wilson and Austin met in
2006 at the urging of Phyllis Auger, IE's Design Director that the two companies
decided to work together.
